****EDIT 5/16/15: Made some adjustments. Hopefully it looks better now! X3 Contest ends tomorrow ****
This is my contest entry for the artbook contest~!
My Preferred Name: Lady Nyx
Brief Description of the Place you chose to draw:
As long as I could remember, I've always wanted to see the Aurora Borealis, otherwise known as the Northern Lights. I would try to add what said lights actually are scientifically, but I won't pretend that I know how the phenomenon works (who wants a wall of scientific info anyway?) After doing a bit of research, I found out that a fantastic place to check out the Northern Lights is in Norway. And once I honed in on Norway, I noticed some photographers taking photos of the aurora in a place called Djupvik, Northern Norway, the Lyngenalps. After checking out said pictures, I realized that I'd absolutely ADORE being there just so that I can see this fantastically beautiful and magical sight. This is the location in my drawing!
It combines all my favorite visual things: Stars, aurora borealis, and a reflective surface. It's a natural light show that is far more fantastic and beautiful than any firework display. This is God's art and He is the most brilliant artist that ever lived--the proof is in the Northern Lights.
(fun fact: it doesn't need to be cold to see the Northern Lights. All you need is the right spot, right timing, and a clear sky!)

This pic features my new OC Clio. You'll be seeing quite a bit of her in the future X3
